Grateful for Your Service 

Veterans Day Devotional – “A Grateful Nation, A Grateful God”
Scripture:“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”— John 15:13 (NIV)

Today, we pause to give thanks for those who have served our country with courage, integrity, and sacrifice. Veterans Day is more than a national holiday—it is a sacred moment to honor the brave men and women whose willingness to serve has brought peace, protection, and hope to others. Your service is a living testimony of love in action—the kind of love that reflects the very heart of God.

When Jesus spoke the words recorded in John 15:13, He was describing the depth of divine love. That same spirit of selflessness lives within those who have worn the uniform. You stood in harm’s way, carried the burdens of others, and chose duty over comfort. In doing so, you became a blessing not only to our nation but to the world.

God sees the sleepless nights, the moments of courage, and even the quiet strength that continues after your service ends. The Creator who called you to serve also calls you beloved. You have been instruments of peace, protectors of freedom, and bearers of hope. And yes—God is pleased.

May this day remind you that your sacrifice has not gone unnoticed. You have touched lives seen and unseen. You have made a difference. And your example of bravery continues to inspire future generations to serve with honor and compassion.

Prayer: Holy and Loving God, We thank You for every veteran—those who have served faithfully and those who continue to serve in different ways today. We are grateful for their courage, sacrifice, and steadfast love for others. May Your peace rest upon them, healing every wound and renewing every weary heart. Remind them that they are deeply loved, profoundly appreciated, and forever blessed. Strengthen them with Your grace, and let them know that You are pleased with their service. In the name of Jesus, who showed us perfect love, Amen.
