“Shifting Seasons, Steady God”
Scripture: Isaiah 43:19 (NRSV)

"I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."

Life has a way of shifting beneath our feet—careers change, relationships evolve, health may waver, and new responsibilities appear without warning. Change can feel like standing in the middle of a storm, unsure of which direction the winds will blow. But in the midst of all the uncertainty, one truth remains: God is with you in every season, every shift, and every step.

Transitions are not punishments; they are invitations. Invitations to grow, to release, to become. The same God who guided your ancestors through unfamiliar territory is guiding you now. God’s presence is not limited to moments of clarity—it is strongest when the path is unclear.

Dr. W.E.B. Du Bois once said, “There is in this world no such force as the force of a person determined to rise.” And rise you shall. Not because you have all the answers, but because God walks with you, making ways in your wilderness and sending rivers to refresh you in your desert places.

Whatever shift you are experiencing—whether it’s a job change, a relocation, a loss, a new beginning, or an unexpected delay—know this: God is not surprised. God is already in your next chapter preparing the people, the peace, and the provision you will need. Even when you don’t see the whole picture, trust that God is painting it with grace and intention.

Prayer: Loving and Eternal God, You see the paths we cannot. When life shifts and everything feels uncertain, help us to rest in the certainty of Your presence. Remind us that we are not alone, and that You are writing a beautiful story with every transition. Give us courage to embrace the new, strength to let go of the old, and faith to walk forward—knowing You walk beside us. Amen.

You may be going through a change, but God remains the same. You are not being pulled apart—you are being put together in a new and purposeful way. Trust the shift. God is in it.
